{ happy weekend }

this is my idea of a perfect weekend cook out. 

this weekend i will be raising money for cancer research with 700 others during crawl for cancer. a pub crawl with 30+ teams this year. can’t think of a better way to fundraise than on a patio with friends and a sunny afternoon. hope you have a great weekend, too!

from anthropologie. be sure to check out the video case study to hear from anthropologie creative director, trevor lunn. talk about a dream job. their corporate offices look amaaaazing. and i love how they mix textures – clothes + collateral designs. i’m especially into the uses of paper in their online work, like showcased in this website. { just click on the anthropologie tab, bottom right corner }  love it. love it. love it!!!

{ healthy breakfast microsite }

yes. it’s in swedish. no it isn’t helpful to “us”… but it is very calming, simple, clean and pretty. i like the specific target of a healthy breakfast only. there are tons of sites trying to help us count calories at every meal. they’re usually list based or fill-in-the-box kind of forms – they work well, but are slightly boring. especially if you’re returning day after day to input your data. this brings a fun new visual technique that just may keep users coming back. and it’s still quick and easy. if it had an actual, ‘login/track your breakfast habits’ option { hey maybe it does… i can’t read it }  and if it was in english, i’d use it. kudos to the wasa and forsman + bodenfors.

love this animation from james jarvis for nike. it’s more of an artistic collaboration with the brand, rather than an “in your face” ad. nike’s presence is minimal, and yet this animation is already a viral success. (yeah yeah, they’re nike, they can do anything.) still a nice, simple little piece.
